How To Give Your Business Curb Appeal

When you consider the way that your business looks, are you thinking about it from your perspective or the perspective of your clients and customers? Really, you should be looking at your home from every perspective, which means that you have to pretend you’re in the shoes of someone else. The way that your business looks from the outside really does matter, and if you are in the process of planning to sell your business, then the outside really does make a difference to how much money you could sell it for. How it looks on the outside is what is going to make your business a big one!

Think about this: would you walk into a supermarket that had broken or dirty windows, cracked sidewalk paths and dead plants? Would you trust this supermarket to look after your food and the products you would buy? Of course, you wouldn’t. You wouldn’t trust a business that couldn’t look after itself, so why would you expect anyone to trust yours? How your business comes across on the outside matters, and that means that you need to think about the advice from the experts that you can get for the windows and other options in the business that need cleaning. You shouldn’t rely on your business acumen for everything in your business, though it should be a priority for you to keep it looking presentable and smart. So, with this in mind, here are some of the best ways that you can give your business the right curb appeal.

  1. Speak to someone about pressure washing the sidewalk. You might not think that the pavement outside the business is your responsibility, but it is! If people have to walk a pathway to get to your front door, you want that path to be clear and clean. Your car park, driveway, front drive and step all count here, too. Pressure washing and soaping these areas should be happening at least once or twice a week.
  2. Don’t forget a little nature. Greenery and flowers are some of the best ways to front your business and make it look pretty. Consider bordering planters and giant climbing ivy to give your business exterior some color. If your business is on the high street, you might consider window boxes of flowers to bring it to life. Bonus points if you can match your flowers to your branding!
  3. Get some new signage. If it’s been a while since you had your brand signage installed, then it’s a good time to go and get something new. You want to ensure that your signs look good – all of them – because if your signs are in need of repair, you are showing the outside world that you don’t care enough about your business.
  4. Make a point of sweeping. Every single day, you should get the front of your business swept out. Those leaves that blow up the pathway? Those can be sorted out and brushed away. Cigarette butts need to be blown away from the front paths and make your clients feel welcome. If you have a driveway, that needs to be swept out, too!
  5. Change out your displays. Make a point of changing your storefront window displays regularly, at least once a week. Make the most of these displays, because you are going to be able to use these to showcase the range of your products when you do it.
  6. Put across your business message. People going by your business should be able to tell what you do and why you do it just by walking past. Anyone should glance up and know what you do, which means that you need to make sure that your business brand is clear!
  7. Light up the parking. If you have a parking lot, check the bulbs regularly so that you can light the space and ensure that people can see where they’re going when they go to their cars. Not only will people feel safer, the business won’t feel run down. Making your parking lot safe is just a smart thing to do but it also shows that you think about your customers and not just yourself.
  8. Hire in a maintenance company. Lastly, it’s easy to forget about the maintenance when you run a business but when you hire a maintenance company, you are going to have experts to pay attention to the smallest details. Keep things in good repair and you’ll prove that you care about what people think about your business every single time.
