During Week 1 of Always Eat After 7 PM: The Revolutionary Rule-Breaking Diet That Lets You Enjoy Huge Dinners, Desserts, and Indulgent Snacks—While Burning Fat Overnight by Joel Marion, I share one of my goals: to lose weight and keep it off. As I mentioned, I also want to do this without sacrificing foods I enjoy. In Week 2, I talked about my daughter’s love for making pasta and other carbs. She actually made a baked penne with ground turkey the other day. 🙂
The book is full of different recipes to try. Surprisingly, one is for a Cheesy Ground Beef Skillet.
A recipe for a dinner containing red meat, rice and cheese is not something I expected to find. But after reading what Joel said about it, I see why it can still be part of a healthy diet.
Most people assume foods like red meat and white rice can’t be fat loss friendly. But the latest research confirms the combination of protein and carbs (especially at dinnertime) actually helps regulate cortisol (known as the “belly fat hormone”), induces deeper sleep, and even helps stabilize morning blood sugar. This recipe fits the bill perfectly by providing a hefty dose of muscle building protein combined with the glucose from rice making it a delicious and effective combination to feed your body everything it needs in your quest for a leaner, healthier body.Joel Marion

My Progress So Far with Always Eat After 7PM
Since starting the program, I’ve kept to a regular exercise routine. If the Chicago weather cooperates, I head outside for a walk. If not, I work out to a video on YouTube. It feels good to choose me in these moments. Sometimes my family even joins in.
When it comes to eating, I don’t worry that my whole plan will be thrown off if I eat too late or have the occasional cheat meal. This is a lifestyle, not a temporary fix. And I’m happy to report that I’ve noticed some positive results. One is that I can still fit my summer clothes from last year. I know I gained weight this past winter, but thankfully, the pounds are coming off. Another result is that making healthier eating choices has become easier. For example, my husband bought the frozen version of burgers from a popular restaurant chain. I microwaved some for them and happily chose a healthier alternative for myself.
The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good. If you find yourself at a loss of what to eat, there are recipes for every meal of the day, including dessert. There are also daily plans and suggestions as you move through each phase of the plan.
When you’re growing a business, it’s tempting to neglect your health. We put exercise to the side and eat what’s convenient, which isn’t always healthy. This book was a good reminder that I don’t have to choose either the business or me. I can choose both. And the healthier you are, the better you can show up for your clients.
