To keep up with their businesses on the go, most entrepreneurs I know use a smartphone. Blackberry, iPhone and Droid powered phones are the gadgets of choice. What makes these phones worth having is the variety of mobile applications available for them. I have seen apps on everything from using your phone as a credit card payment processor to taking your anger out with frustrated birds.
Business on Main’s Frugal Entrepreneur, Paul Hochman, shares two free must-have business apps in this video, and I know there are more out there. I’d like to hear your recommendations for the best free mobile business applications. Share the name of the app, where you can get it, the type of phone you have and why it’s an important application to have on every small business owners phone. My team and I will look at all the application recommendations and the best one will win $100 (provided by Business on Main)! Feel free to use the money to enhance your business or to invest in some paid applications. 🙂 Check out the rules below the video.

I think Hootsuite for Blackberry is one of THE best apps a business owner could use. It allows you to manage your status updates across various social sites, and you can schedule updates. The one thing I absolutely love about this app is that you can send updates from one site to your other sites.
For example, I have Twitter accounts for my personal, business and community sites. If someone says something on my personal account that is best fitting for the community site, I can just re-tweet it to that account. That is absolutely fabulous.
Because most small business owners need to stay engaged with prospects and customers – even on the go – the Hootsuite app helps. You can say what you want to say, share other people’s updates and respond from your mobile phone. Just a warning, though, it could be quite addictive.
To get Hootsuite for Blackberry, you have to download it from the Hootsuite site.
This is truly an honor! Thanks much.
