The responsibility of the physician is to analyze a patient’s symptoms, come up with a diagnosis, and a treatment plan. Some diseases or issues they can treat themselves; or they need to refer them to a specialist.

The median salary for a physician is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year.

2. Chemist

A chemist is also a really popular medical career choice.

This career will likely lead you on a path to a position in pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, development, or testing.

With a bachelor’s of science, a chemist can make about a mid-$70k range.

This job is also expected to grow, but it will be at a slower pace than other jobs.

In school, chemistry majors will most likely take analytical, organic, physical, and inorganic chemistry. If these sound interesting to you, maybe being a medical chemist is in your future.

3. Physician Assitant

If you don’t want to spend all the time in school to become a physician, you could also become a physician assistant.

They normally work by themselves in smaller groups to help the surgeons and physicians.

They don’t have as many responsibilities as a doctor, which is why they don’t have to go to school for as long as they do. However, they do take on tasks like doing examinations, prescribing medicine, ordering tests, and pulling medical histories.

4. Registered Nurse

Registered nurses are also popular in demand as time goes on.

They are healthcare providers that work on a team with other specialists and other nurses to help provide treatment for patients.

The average salary for a registered nurse is about $65,000 a year.

5. Radiation Therapist

A radiation therapist earns about $80,000 a year.

The jobs in this field are also expected to grow as more and more people are having scans done.

A radiation therapist will normally work in a hospital or a specialized clinic. Most states do require licensing and some schooling to apply though.
