3M Creates Fictional Purchasing Manager Barry to Show You How NOT to Approach Office Health and Safety

33M-BarryM, the experts in personal safety solutions, take personal safety in the work place very seriously. However, they also understand that sometimes issues are best dealt with using comedy!

That is why they have launched a series of short, funny video clips to help those with responsibility for safety in their work place educate others about the importance of personal safety decisions. The point of these videos was to create a character, Barry the Purchasing Manager (played by Ewen Macintosh), who we may all know someone a bit like, someone in an organisation who does not have the in depth understanding of the challenges that health and safety managers deal with on a daily basis.

The 10 videos are short and hilarious, featuring Barry giving his opinion on health and safety in the office. In one clip, he is trying to convince a co-worker who called that the only protective gear he needs are garbage bins with drawstrings. Meanwhile, Barry is putting together a puzzle and clearly not paying attention to his co-worker’s needs. In another, he’s dressed in full armor which he’ll require employees to wear since he bought them in bulk.

As the campaign encourages, do not take office health and safety advice from Barry. Instead, look to 3M and their new Wise Choices pack. For more information, and to download a free Wise Choices pack for your office, go to www.3M.co.uk/WiseChoices
