The Best Places to Sell Your iPhone

There’s no question about it:  Cell phones become obsolete almost as soon as we buy them.  Just when you think you have done a good job of keeping up with the Jones’ in terms of technology, along comes a new generation of cell phone that you simply must have.  The trouble is, you still have your old iPhone to get rid of.  How do you do that?  Have you ever said to yourself, “How can I sell my iPhone quickly and easily?  How do you get the best price you can for your phone, with minimal hassle?”

The first option is to simply keep you old phone as a backup.  This is by far the easiest and most convenient method of dealing with your old phone, but it doesn’t do much for your wallet.

Second, you could sell it to someone you know.  Ask among your friends and family to find out whether any of them are in the market for a “new” phone.  What is older to you might be a step up for a friend.  The only challenge here is that because you are selling your phone to a friend they may expect you to lower the price.  It may be uncomfortable to stick to your price when the buyer is someone you know, so you may end up settling for a lower price than you would if you were selling your phone to a stranger

You can also use social media to help sell your iPhone.  Post a message on Facebook (either on your own page or in a local buy and sell group).  Post your phone on an online auction site.  Send out an email.  Social media can be a great way to connect a buyer to a seller quickly.

It may also be possible to trade in your phone.  Depending on the carrier and where you bought your iPhone, sometimes it’s possible to trade your old phone in for credit towards a newer version.  It never hurts to ask, right?  Sometimes you can trade in your phone for credit, making the purchase price of your new phone lower.

If you have an iPhone and are looking to upgrade to a new generation, there are lots of options for places to sell your current phone.  It may seem like a hassle to try to sell your phone, but it can definitely be worth the extra effort.   Not only will you not be stuck with a phone you don’t want or need anymore, by selling your outdated phone you can keep a few extra dollars in your pocket that you can put toward the purchase of a new phone.  That’s a win-win situation all around!

There’s no rule stating that just because a new version of your phone comes out you have to run out and buy it, but if you are the kind of person who likes to keep on top of these things, there are definitely options out there for getting rid of your current phone.
