Smart Ways To Increase Employee Motivation

Smart Ways To Increase Employee Motivation

You believe in the vision you have for your company, and you’re burning with the desire to achieve it. Unfortunately, you don’t see the same fire burning within your workers, no matter what you try. Employees can be regarded as the engine of any business, and motivation plays a crucial role in their ability to drive your company to where you want it to be. But what do you do if your workers are running low on morale? Here are a few ways to increase employee motivation.

  1. Let them know you trust them

You’ll be surprised how far a simple vote of confidence can go to encourage people to step up to the standards you expect or want from them. Letting your workers know that you trust them is one way to give them the morale they need. Show them you believe in them to do a good job, and they’ll strive not to disappoint you.

  1. Recognize great work

A major factor that increases employee motivation is how often you recognize the effort they put in. 70% of workers admit that they’d love to receive appreciation for the work they do. In contrast, employees who don’t feel recognized are more likely to quit within a year. It’s not only crucial to recognize good performance, but how you do it can also have a significant impact. For example, annual bonuses at the end of the year are great, but recognition should come frequently and be meaningful. It could range from something as simple as a “thank you for your efforts” note to purchasing bulk medals to hand out to work teams or departments that have performed exceptionally.

  1. Show them that you care

Most workers love to know that their employers care about them beyond the professional environment. You can achieve this in several ways. First, have an open-door policy. Let your workers know that they can approach you or reach you anytime, no matter their issue. You might not have a solution for them, but being available to speak creates a sense of interest in their well-being. And speaking of well-being, take the necessary steps to protect their health. A comprehensive health insurance package is an excellent place to start. Also, ensure that they get frequent work breaks, leave periods, etc., to rejuvenate them.

  1. Pay them well

Attractive remuneration is one of the most effective ways to motivate your workers. Additionally, to keep your top performers, you should pay them competitive salaries to dissuade them from looking for other options. Of course, this is easier said than done, as it depends on your company’s financial standing. But at least, you need to ensure that you don’t skimp on salary and other performance bonuses.

  1. Radiate positivity

No one wants to work for a hard taskmaster. So, find ways to radiate positivity and pump up the right energy in your work environment. Try to be enthusiastic and allow your workers to feed off your positive energy. Create a relaxed, pleasant, playful working environment while remaining professional.
