What made you want to be an entrepreneur? In runs in my blood, I come from a very long line of very successful entrepreneurs. My father comes from a place in Nigeria, called Nnewi. They are known throughout Nigeria to love business and making money.
Why did you choose your business? I am a wife and mom. When I had to go back to work, I could not imagine putting my newborn baby in a daycare with a room full of strangers. I had worked hard to breastfeed and I did not want it to stop. I found a nanny for myself and a ton of other friends and the rest as they say is history.
What prepared you for entrepreneurship? I have a very diverse work experience and background. I have traveled the world, and had the best financial and leadership training in the world.
What has been your greatest achievement so far? Every time I help a family with either finding a nanny, sharing great information on MGN Radio, or encouraging another entrepreneur I feel very happy. Every day I am alive and doing what I love to do is an achievement.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of being an entrepreneur? Having the platform to help others succeed in business. My upcoming conference Dare 2 Aspire 2012 was created to enable other people to understand and see the importance of following your dreams and starting a businesss. Please visit http://www.d2aspire.com. We have an amazing speaker line up, vendor booths, and sponsorship opportunities.
What challenges have you faced as an entrepreneur? Websites. I am a perfectionist and love technology and finding a good website developer has been a challenge. However, now I am working with Inspired Graphics Media and great work is underway for My Good Nanny.
Is there anything you wish you’d done differently? No. Everything has happened in divine order and for a reason.
How can others get started in this business? Have a love and passion for children and helping families. Do your research.
Do you have any advice for future entrepreneurs? Trust God. Trust Yourself.
Thanks so much for the feature. It is such a honor!
