Why YOU are the key to your success and HOW you can make it happen – PART 2

Welcome back.

Let’s have a quick re-cap. In part 1, we established that you CAN be successful no matter what life throws at you as long as you are aware that self-belief is KEY to your success. We covered how being optimistic, focusing on your strengths and having energy and drive are all fundamental factors that contribute to your strength of self-belief.

I’m glad you have listened to the advice so far – by following it you have made a great decision that will set you on a path to strong self-belief and enable you to achieve your goals and increase your success.

But you’re not ready yet. I’ve got some tips coming up that are going to prove to be extremely valuable ammunition to support you in your mission:

  • Sacrifice

You have to be prepared to make sacrifices in other areas of your life in order to succeed. A lot of entrepreneurs fall down with this because they haven’t accepted the reality of having to make changes to their lifestyle – like social life, different working hours, working away from home etc. etc. You MUST accept that these changes are going to occur BEFORE you embark on an entrepreneurial venture, otherwise they can turn around and bite you where it hurts, giving a severe blow to your self-confidence. Employ some of that optimism we were talking about and realise that such inconveniences should be welcomed as they are helping guarantee a brighter future. And remember, nothing is forever, and when your projects come good all the sacrifices you made will totally vanish into dim and distant memory.

  • Decisions

You’ve got to be willing to take those tough decisions when they come along – so you must accept that you’re going to have to be bad cop once in a while. Think things through clearly and logically and then once you have made your decision don’t hesitate to take action. Have confidence in your decision making and stick with it no matter what. This will not only help you avoid procrastination and help your business run much more smoothly – it will also build your confidence and self-belief.  Keep in mind that each decision that is made by you, regardless of how unimportant it may appear at the time, will have an impact on the future of your business in some way. If you’re still really not sure rely on your gut instinct, it’s what brought you to do what you’re doing in the first place, so trust it – most successful entrepreneurs do.

  • Visualisation

Seeing is believing. You will only achieve the most powerful self belief when you develop a powerful vision of yourself. Try and visualise your goals twice a day – once when you wake up and once just before you hit the sack. Be really specific. Keep your eyes closed and watch yourself achieving clear goals and behaving strongly, calmly and decisively. Play out a day in your life a few months or years from now and visualise yourself having achieved your goals in that time – how has it affected your life? It may sound crazy but the most dedicated and successful business people use this kind of visualisation to take their self-belied to another level and empower themselves

Big congratulations and much respect is due to you for making the decision to forge your own path as an entrepreneur. Taking that path is for sure challenging but the potential gains are HUGE. Just believe in YOU and you WILL beat the bad guys, get the girl/guy/money/prize/kudos or whatever, be everyone’s favourite hero – AND be back in time for breakfast.

Just remember: Be savvy, strong, optimistic, energetic, rational and calculating and never stop improving your skills — but most importantly, believe in yourself, because it will take you and your business to levels nothing else can touch.
