Telltale Signs That It’s Time To Look For A New Office

If you run a business, the environment in which you work should be an important consideration. Ideally, you want to create a workplace that has the right atmosphere as well as finding a location that delivers on a practical level. If you’re thinking about relocating to a different office, here are some telltale signs to look out for.

You’ve outgrown the space

Have you got people working on top of each other or a stock or store room that is overflowing? Is there never enough room to host meetings or gather everyone together or do you struggle to find a quiet space to talk to clients? If your company is growing, this is great news, but it may mean that you need to consider alternative options and look at larger premises.

The location isn’t right

Many businesses depend on a good location to bring in trade and drive sales. If your office is out on a limb, you don’t get any passing trade or people find it impossible to get to you or find somewhere to park, this indicates that you could do better location wise. If the success of your business is heavily reliant on passing trade and footfall or you need to be close to transport links, make these factors your priority when you’re looking for a new office space and contacting local movers. You may have to pay more in rent if you move to a more central location, but relocating is likely to boost your revenue and could prove a very lucrative choice in the long-term.

There’s nothing inspiring about the place

How do you feel when you walk through the door and put your bag down on the desk? Have a look around. What do you see? Do you see interesting architecture or natural light flooding through the windows or are you greeted with the sight of plain magnolia walls and rows and rows of computers? If you don’t have free reign to decorate and the office is a run of the mill space, which has very little to offer in the way of motivation or inspiration, have a look at spaces that offer something different. Offices are opening everywhere from old warehouses and disused factories to modern skyscrapers and renovated mills. If your workforce is inspired, this is likely to increase productivity.

You could be getting more for your money

When you rent office space, it’s important to make sure that you’re getting a good deal. Look for options that offer more than just the space. Are there blocks that give you access to additional facilities like a gym, a pool or parking spaces? Are there options that include service and maintenance charges? Even if you’re happy where you are, it’s always a good idea to keep your eyes out for a better opportunity.

If you run a business, it’s wise to consider your options when it comes to choosing an office space. If you’ve outgrown the current premises, you’re out of the way, you’re paying over the odds, or there’s nothing exciting about the space you’re renting, it may be time to move to pastures new.
