As experts like Logicalis will tell you, in today’s business climate it’s essential that your company operates a mobile framework. What this essentially means is that you make the most of the fact that smartphone and mobile tablet technology have proliferated and infiltrated our social and our business lives.
For your business to be a success in the coming years, you’ll need to ensure that your business makes the most of the mobile technology that has recently come into existence. If you do, you’ll find that you won’t just be a better, more profitable business, but you’ll also be a company that attracts the young talent that is to be the next generation of high quality, tech-savvy employees in your workplace.
This is essential if you want to remain competitive. So without further ado, we’ve collected into a short list some of the reasons why going mobile is vital to your business’s continuing success.
Create Space and Remove Barriers
One thing that you’ll find if you switch from a desktop and laptop set-up to a mobile one is that you’ll free up more room in your office space to bring on new starters, helping your business to grow.
In addition to facilitating team expansion, your switch to mobile infrastructure means that your team members are no longer anchored to a particular space in the office. This newfound freedom allows for quicker information dissemination and faster idea generation, making your business more operationally effective and efficient.
Bring-Your-Own-Device Lowers Operational Cost
If you’re going to move your team onto a mobile infrastructure, it makes good financial sense to allow your team to bring in their own devices. You’ll need to have them PAT tested to ensure their electrical safety, but once that process is done you’ll greatly reduce your operational cost by cutting IT spend (no more hefty desktop PCs!).
Win New Business with Smart Strategies
A third – though not final – advantage to going mobile is that you’ll be more likely to win over new business with your use of mobile technology that takes advantage of smart technologies that will wow and impress your clients.
Making use of mobile technologies shows your business’s ability to adapt with the times, take a risk, and to learn new things – all of which are great indicators for a potential new client or business partner.
Ultimately, upgrading your business to one that relies on mobile infrastructure is a smart business move that is bound to generate you larger profits, win you more clients and make your company more effective and efficient. For these reasons and more, going mobile should be point one on your agenda.
Another way of going mobile is to take it all the way to no office at all, or just a home office. With your trusty laptop and/or tablet (I use an iPad), you can take you office with you wherever you go. Need WiFi? Use your iPhone and create a hot spot for either your laptop or your iPad. It works for me everyday.
Great idea, Sally! With technology we don’t have to be chained to a desk at all if we don’t want to be. I love having the option of using my phone as a hot spot. It beats having to wait until I get home or having to stop at a place with free WiFi if I need to send something from my laptop when I’m out.
